Hi there!
I was originally asked if I'd like to do the 10km walk as part of the Taupō Marathon. As I've never competed in an event before, I decided to challenge myself and go for the half marathon! Maybe I am mad!!
Our team is raising funds for Lake Taupō Hospice, which is the official charity of the event, but also a place that has taken care of so many of our friends in their final days. It's an amazing cause and one that I am very proud to be fundraising for.
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to Lake Taupō Hospice.

Lake Taupo Hospice delivers quality palliative care and family support to members of our community who have received a terminal diagnosis. This extensive wrap-around service is completely free of charge and aims to empower patients to “live every moment”. Put simply, they are there for us and our whanau when we need them most.Ours is a philosophy of care for people of all ages and any life-limiting illness. Our focus is on living every moment and we care for the whole person, not just the physical, but also emotional, spiritual and social needs. We never lose sight of the person behind the illness.Funds raised will go towards caring for patients and providing support for their families.
